This three day regulated programme is designed to assist delegates and companies in the provision of Security Officer Training that meets SIA requirements for licensing and NOCN requirements for examination. Delegates will gain an in-depth understanding of the current legislation pertinent to their work and invaluable knowledge relating to the purpose and principals of working as a Security Operative within the Private Security Industry.
There are 28 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) on this course which all students must complete to achieve the qualification, this is a requirement of both the SIA and the Awarding Organisation. Students are required to complete 4 hours 'Home Study' in the evenings whilst attending this programme, tutors will be available to give help to candidates if necessary.

This course is designed for new entrants to the industry, people transferring from other security functions, those with jobs which includes some elements of Security Guarding and existing security staff requiring a qualification, in order to apply for an SIA licence.

Our resources are tailored to the content in which they're being used, they will include; Video presentations, use of video recording for practical activities, scenario based learning, group activities, quizzes, PowerPoint, blast boards, ICT and others.
Assessment is made up of 3 compulsory one hour multiple choice examinations and a practical assessment held on separate days.
Core skills are essential for individuals to work safely and meet quality standards in our industry and will be introduced where possible. Students will be taught how to operate email and provided with an email address if applicable.
Successful candidates will be awarded the Level 2 Award for working as a Security Operative within the Private Security Industry (QCF), and will be able to apply to the SIA to be licensed.
